Ephemera: 1900's printing trades typography
Getting ready for a large chalk panel sign, I typically start with a little source material from Sheaff Ephemera. Enjoy.

Binh Tay Market, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Sign Painting
On a recent trip to Vietnam, I went to the incredible Binh Tay Market in District 6 of Ho Chi Mihn City. About 75 percent of the markets signage was still hand painted, though it looked like vinyl lettering was starting to replace it slowly. Although the lighting was pretty bad, I tried to document as much as I could. Photographs by Kel Troughton, September 2014.
